Ramallah (30/01/2008). Dr. Abdulmalek Al- Jaber, CEO at PalTel Group met with John Chambers, SISCO Board of Directors Chairman. The meeting came on the margin of Chambers visit to the Palestinian territories where he expressed his support to the Palestinian people.
Dr. Al- Jaber said “the successful stories of the Palestinian private sector exist despite all difficulties. PalTel Group has a remarkable role in reviving hope and achieving this success”. Dr. Al-Jaber and Mr. Chambers discussed ways of cooperation in supporting the patronized “Palestinian Education Fund program” sponsored by PalTel Group and “SISCO International academic Program” in cooperation with Arab Youth Leaderships Organization offering SISCO scholarships for Arab youths.
 
On the other hand, Dr. Al- Jaber emphasized on the importance of providing and creating employment opportunities to the Palestinian youths through establishing investment funds that would provide financial and educational to the Palestinian business startups found in the Palestinian universities. Many countries have experiences in the area of supporting innovation and establishing successful projects based on specialized creative ideas in the field of information technology.
 
“Upon taking part in Davos meetings, the siege ignited flare-up in Gaza, and the national economy improvement needs radical solutions” Dr.Abdul Malek Al - Jaber declared.

Ramallah- (28.01.2008) Dr. Abdul Malek Al- Jaber, Chief Executive Officer at PalTel Group concluded his participating in the World Economic Forum 2008 in Davos by taking part in several official and economical meetings in the Forum.
Dr. Al- Jaber also took part in an extended meeting that included the Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Salam Fayyad and the Quartet's special envoy Mr. Tong Blair, as well as the representative of the U.S. Aspen Institute Forum Mr. Walter Isakson and a number of businessmen and representatives of large international companies.
The meeting was focused on the priorities of advancing socioeconomic development in the Palestinian territories. Dr. Al- Jaber said  “the situation facing the Palestinians, especially in Gaza, has created congestion which, in addition to blockade and poverty led to the destruction of the wall and the border crossings and leaving to Egypt, emphasizing that restrictions imposed on movement and crossing are not helping the Palestinian private sector meet the needs of the national economy and it has become hard to imagine any possibility of bringing in investments and proceed with the development process as it will not work under the siege and blockade”.
 
On the other hand, Dr. Al-Jabir pointed out the need to combat poverty and unemployment and restore hope for Palestinian youth by launching interim projects that help in creating job opportunities for large numbers of young people. Dr. Al-Jaber explained  “the projects discussed in some circles, such as industrial cities and other utilities dependable of the Israeli authorities may need several months to materialize, whereas other projects in the field of the internet, information technology, skills development and financing small projects give faster results and provide a significant number of jobs for younger generations”. 
 
Dr. Al-Jaber also met the Arab League General Secretary Dr. Amr Moussa, the former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Ms. Mary Robinson, the former Pakistani Prime Minister Mr. Shawkat Aziz, the Crown Prince of Bahrain Prince Salman Bin Khalifah, the Egyptian Minister of Finance Yousif Butros Ghali and the UAE Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Mr. Mohammad Al-Jerjawi. He also took part in several side meetings with Chairmen and CEOs of large international companies, such as Microsoft, Google, WPP, Publics, E-Bay, FRANCE TELECOM, SIEMENS, YAHOO, BRITISH TELECOM, AMDCOS, RENAULT, NISSAN, The Rockefeller Foundation, Mohammad Bin Rashid Foundation, Dubai Ports Authority and other Arab and regional companies. The talks focused on PalTel Group’s  projects, both commercial and social.
 
The representatives of those companies and organizations expressed their interest in learning closely about real investment opportunities and non-profit development projects lead by PalTel Group, wishing to support the Palestinian private sector.
As part of the conference, Dr. Al-Jaber gave a lecture on the other side of Palestine, the lecture was given in a private meeting that included 70 American and European businessmen, Dr. Al-Jaber said  “the other side of Palestine is invisible and unknown to many people because of the emphasis in the media on action and dramatic political developments, overlooking the civilized aspect of  the Palestinians and their significant achievements”. The talk also discussed PalTel’s experience with “Palestine International Award for Excellence and Creativity” and the “PC Fund” initiative in addition to other social initiatives.

PALTEL Group laid specific ideas for projects under developments in the fields of technology, information systems and technological investment funds, in addition to big projects such as industrial cities and different manufacturing centers.
Dr. Al-Jaber sensed the international and Western understanding of the Palestinian issue, and the companies’ and investors’ desire to look out for opportunities to take part in some projects in Palestine, whether purely commercial or developmental.
