Nablus - Paltel has organized a meeting and an open lengthy dialogue seminar with Moneeb Al-Massri, the Chairman of PADICO and the Head of Palestine Forum, about the prospects of national Palestinian dialogue, its constraints and success opportunities. The seminar came within a series of previous meetings held at Jawwal and PalTel, and attended by the General Manager of Paltel Eng. Mohannad Al-Hejawi, heads and managers of departments at Paltel, representatives of Labor Unions at PalTel and a number of employees.
During this meeting, Mr. Moneeb Al-Massri tackled all recent issues including the Palestinian concern of continuous occupation and its policies toward the overall issues of the country and its impact on conflict resolution. Al-Massri talked a lot about the Palestinian internal division and the resulting psychological state of the Palestinians.
Al-Massri noted that the national project is deteriorating, especially the division between our brothers in Gaza and West Bank. Accordingly, we have launched the private sector initiative in early 2006. This Initiative called for the end of division and for coalition. Thereafter, the accord initiative was launched and transformed into the national reconciliation initiative. Then we abandoned the private sector initiative for the sake of the sacred initiative of prisoners support. We have also launched a new initiative “For You Palestine” in addition to the Palestine Forum initiative. The Forum is a social association that will have an impact on the society and on political and economic situation.
Al-Massri said that we should call for unity to get Gaza back to the West Bank and we have no choice but to get along. Therefore, we spared no effort for reconciliation. We called for resolution in Cairo where a number of “independent” Palestinian figures were present and we effectively contributed to bringing together the views of Fateh, Hamas and other factions and we have agreed on many topics. However, there was disagreement on three aspects of the Palestinian cause, namely; the Liberation Organization, the elections and the government. Another meeting will be held on 26th of April in Cairo to complete the journey of the Palestinian reconciliation.
Al-Massri added that the Palestinian cause is facing a major crisis and we must all work together to reach an agreement between Hamas and Fateh. The crisis is not only a crisis of leadership, organizations and parties but rather it is a crisis of people, economy, culture, society, values and education which- we notice- all declining and getting weaker.
Our responsibility is to get together to have a significant impact on the political and economic situation.

Al-Massri praised the role of Paltel in the society and the great success it achieved as well as its impact on the society and citizens. He wished for Paltel more development and prosperity. He said that Paltel is a leading company and talked about its merger with Zain Company in the near future. The merger with a major international company like Zain represents a step on the right track.
Al-Massri talked also about the Palestine Forum as being a serious attempt to develop a framework that joins the independent Palestinians inside and outside Palestine who look for ways to get out of the crisis threatening the Palestinian cause and the national project. The Forum works for children, youth and elderly and will draw special attention to the development and empowerment of Palestinian people at the scientific and cultural levels on the basis of protecting our values, heritage and traditions. It is important for each individual not to bow or submit but to take collective actions and spare no effort to change the reality and to work for the country.
Al-Massri called the telecommunication professionals to have Palestine as their top priority over any agenda or secondary objective because Palestine is the basis of salvation. If we realize the dream of a democratic country, we would maintain the rights and dignity of Palestinian people, achieving thereby unity and overcoming difficulties. Al-Massri added that we should refer to our good ethics and national belonging to Palestine away from individualism and bias for certain groups, and we should work together to push ahead the national unity, make success of dialogue and practice pressure on politicians and opponents for reconciliation and reform.
Al-Massri reiterated that each Palestinian should have a responsibility towards Palestine, emphasizing the ability of Palestinian people to change the reality, use reasonable judgment and favor patriotism over selfishness. He confirmed that the Forum seeks to achieve justice, independence and reconciliation and that the interest of the country is our main concern.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Al-Massri called for reflection on Palestine future. He said that if we have determination, we will achieve our goal. He also stressed on the idea that we are the holders of the right so we must be confident. He also called for unity and reconsideration of the central issues of the Palestinian people, and thanked the attendance for listening.
